How do I book a session?
Contact the CEMO Director and CEMO Program Coordinator through the Contact page.
- Select your topics and date, often with discussion with the CEMO Director who will tailor content to your site. We are happy to develop new topics for you as needed!
- At time of booking, you will be provided with a Memorandum of Agreement and pre-session invoice for the deposit. At time of the session, you will receive a post-session invoice for the remainder.
- The CEMO Program Coordinator provides logistical support, e.g. communicates with host site on matters including billing, accreditors and speakers, hosts CEMO Virtual online sessions, arranges equipment and supplies, provides participant certificates and evaluations.
When can I book a session?
The CEMO Director works with you to select a date and time for your site. Most often, we offer programs during the Canadian academic year, September – June.
Is CEMO accredited?
Yes, all CEMO sessions are accredited with CFPC Mainpro+ and RCPS(C) Section 1 credits. Accreditation cost is included in the overall session fee. Each participant will receive a certificate of attendance from the CEMO Program Coordinator.
What is the cost of a CEMO Simulation Session?
CEMO Simulation is team-based learning. Session costs are for an ED team, rather than an individual participant.
Cost of a CEMO Simulation session depends on the length of the session(s). This may vary based on selected topics and the number of participants and facilitators. See below for sample fees:
2-hour Session, 1 facilitator | 3-hour Session, 2 facilitators |

Included: speaker and director stipends, travel costs for the area surrounding Ottawa, equipment and supplies, administration, and accreditation.
Not included: travel costs outside the Ottawa area, simulation equipment fees.

CEMO On-site is team-based learning. Session costs are for an ED team, rather than an individual participant.
Cost of a CEMO On-site session varies depending on the number of topics selected (generally one hour each). See below for sample fees:

What are my site’s responsibilities?
As host site, you are responsible for:
- Providing a local Adminstrator contact person to the CEMO Program Coordinator;
- Communicating the number and names of session participants to the CEMO Program Coordinator one week before the session to enable accreditation and completion of certificates of attendance; and
- Providing rooms and refreshments for On-site sessions plus computer and AV equipment and setup.
What is the Cancellation Policy?
Should the host site need to cancel a session after booking, the non-refundable deposit of 50% will be retained by DEM, and a rebooking date may be arranged.
In the case of travel outside of the Eastern Ontario region, 100% of the fee will be charged should the session be cancelled by the host site. This will be discussed at the time of booking and documented in the CEMO Memorandum of Agreement.
Should a session be cancelled by CEMO/DEM, usually due to last-minute weather or other circumstances, the session may be rebooked or the deposit refunded after discussion with the host site.
